Canada is a difficult country for cell providers to service despite the fact that ther is competition. This is due to the lower population density. The cost of operating towers with few subscribers in rural and remote areas means that subscribers in the cities have to pay a premium price because of this. The United States has almost 10 times the population and less land area to cover this means it costs less to provide cell service with more customers and that%26#39;s why the cell phone rates are lower in the United States. We have lack of competition in Canada, therefore prices are higher.
We do however have amazing highspeed internet prices because of all the different providers for DSL and even some areas cable internet.
