Will my chocolate phone work in PA?

I just ordered a chocolate phone thru ebay. I am adding a new line to my family line with Cingular. BUT I am not sure about my GMS number.( really dunno what that means)

It says : In some areas AT%26T and Cingular services work on 850 MHZ networks and don%26#39;t work with Tri Band phones (900 / 1800 / 1900)

Will my lovely chocolate phone work in Pennsylvania?

Answers:

In the US GSM phones use two frequencies, 850 and 1900. The rest of the world uses 900 and 1800.

The old AT%26T was mostly 850. When they merged with Cingular who was mostly 1900 they had phones that would work on one part of the network and not the other.

Here is an old, old map which showed the break down when AT%26T and Cingular first merged. The dark blue is AT%26T%26#39;s 850 network. If you%26#39;re in or around the dark blue you might be out of luck.

You may end up having to call and ask. With them going back and forth both have been undoubtly been adding towers in both spectrums. Probably not, but damn it will taste good. it might

please join http://friends.ipodsweepstakes.com/r/933... Only in the town of Hershey if you have the GSM version of the phone then yes!

however if you got the american chocolate ( CDMA ) then no it will never work anywhere unless you put it on a CDMA network like Verizon In order for you to know if it will work, you%26#39;ll have to check the specifications of the phone and compare them to what radio frequencies Cingular uses.

If the Chocolate uses GSM technology, it may work, depending on the frequencies it can receive. If it is a tri-band phone, but does not receive the frequency that is used where you are going, it will not work. Quad-band "World Phones" are the best bet because that way they will receive all signals, and will get service in any place you travel that uses any of the four cell signals.
