Ok i have a sprint phone. In my apartment it either has 2,1,o bars for a signal
now if i go away from the apartment it goes back to normal.
Why is it doing that?
There is T-Mobile store not even 200 yards from there.
Do you think that T Mobile would be a good carrier to go to.
Answers:
Being inside of a building has a lot to do with your signal strength.
Inside my apartment, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint can get NO signal, but I%26#39;m with a different carrier and I get a good signal.
It all depends on where your nearest cell phone tower is. NOT where a store is. A store doesn%26#39;t have the tower in it.
Call the cell phone company you have your service with and have a tech come out and do a troubleshoot and they%26#39;ll be able to give you a much better answer as to what the problem is. I had that done when I was with Sprint and they let me out of my contract because I wasn%26#39;t getting the service I was paying for.
EDIT: I was also able to try my cell phone with the new company I went with for 15 days to see if it worked well for me and if it didn%26#39;t I could return everything and not be charged anything. I explained to them what my problem had been with Sprint and other cell phone companies, so they suggested I do a "trial period". That might be an option for you.
GOOD LUCK! buildings ground out radio signals and that is what cell phone signals are. The metal skeleton acts as a grounding rod. Before you change service, you might want to try an external cell phone antenna first. I had the same problem and after I installed an antenna and amplifier package on my house, no more problems! I live out in the country though. Try the website below. It is all about this very problem and how to correct it and it%26#39;s worth reading. These guys know their stuff and it%26#39;s why I recommend them. The fact that there is a T-Mobile store near you has no effect at all on the signal strength. It depends on how close you are to a cell tower. Your signal drops off in your apartment because you are indoors. Anytime the signal has to pass through an object (ex. walls) it gets weaker. Also, if you live in a hilly area, and your apartment is at the bottom of a hill with more hills around it, that would cause a signal drop off. I hear T-Mobile is crappy, but I%26#39;ve never used it.been very happy with Verizon, but it depends alot on your location. You are probably right in between 2 places of service. I had a sprint phone and the same problem, and i switched. i think t-mobile is a good choice. ask if they have a "test drive" for their cell phone. Actually it has to do with any interference you phone is receiving. Signal works by line of sight. If there is a building, mountain or trees between you and your towers it may cause you to have a poor signal. If you happen to have a bluetooth phone you might be able to leave your phone in an area of your apartment that receives the most signal and be able to hold a conversation up to 30 feet away with a bluetooth headset. Good Luck.
