If it has, where can I get it?
I want a box that plugs into a cell phone. You then plug a regular phone (preferably a multi phone wireless) into the box. All phones plugged into the box would act like a regular phone except their signal would go through the box and use the cell phone.
Phones would ring normally and have dial tones. The box would do whatever conversion is necessary to make it compatible with the cell phone.
The box would also power the system and charge the cell phone.

Already invented. And I don%26#39;t remember the name. Saw commericals of it last year or something. Let me get this straight... you want a device that lets you use an answering machine on your cell phone? Don%26#39;t all plans come with voice mail, these days?
Honestly, I am hard pressed to figure out what, exactly, I would want this device FOR. EU legislation is leading towards limiting roaming fees, sim conversions, etc, etc. That makes a ton of sense in a federation where each individual country can be crossed in a few hours by car or rail.
Similarly, US legislation is leaning toward unlocking many phone restrictions (number transfers, network-locked phones, etc.) We have carriers with no minutes popping out here and there. Unlimited data networks, coast to coast walkie talkies, I could go on.
A growing number of home phones are going digital. I have. See, the basis of the cell phone is that you don%26#39;t need some goofy box to make it work. It%26#39;s in the phone, along with your address book, internet, pictures, home movies, mp3%26#39;s.
What you%26#39;re talking about is... well, honestly, so specific to your preference that I think you would be hard pressed to find a market for it.
I%26#39;m not trying to demean you or anything. Go to your friends and family. Describe this invention. Promote it as a product that already exists, and retails at Wal-Mart for... say a hundred bucks. $79.95, whatever. See if you can get them to a) understand the purpose, b) see any reason in the world why they would actually want/use one, and c) would they pay a dollar for it, much less, a retail price that would cover the cost of the parts and production.
