Why are cell phone stores always so busy?

No matter where you go, Verizon, Alltel, AT %26 T...they%26#39;re always busy no matter what.more busy than a bank or grocery store for crying out loud!

it%26#39;s not busy in the town where i live, and there%26#39;s 60,000 people in that town, in the AT%26T store. maybe its crowded where u live... ahahha, its true. I believe the reason is because many customers go to the stores for technical issues, billing issues and that should be done over the phone with customer care. Customer care has means of answering all the questions, about bills, technical problems and everything else, but sometimes calling them takes so long, right? While the stores are there maily for sales!

Hope i answered ur question! because they don%26#39;t take phone calls, if you have a question you have to go there in person. Good observation. Have you also noticed that people who can barely find two nickels to rub together have the most expensive and fancy cell phones. I have the money to buy any cell phone I want but have a cheap thing from 4 years ago that does the job. I have friends and family who shouldn%26#39;t even have one and are always trading up for the next thing with every available feature. Cell phones have become a type of status symbol. It%26#39;s because every customer would much rather go in and talk to someone rather than call customer service. People forget that the stores are retail stores.that means you go there to buy things no to have someone to debate the differences between GSM and CDMA networks. Also it takes a lot for the reps to setup accounts or perform account maintenance. A lot of people have been victim of an idiot rep messing up on their service and causing them to get billed incorrectly. I%26#39;ve watched the wireless company I work for consolidate stores and get rid of hundreds of reps who shouldn%26#39;t be there for this very reason.

Also to the person who answered your question with the generalization of people who have cool phones being poor...you should just quit answering questions if you%26#39;re going to put stereotypes on people.
